Requirements

  • PhD degree in related research arena and minimum of two years related postdoctoral research experience for Research Scientist - Laboratory
  • PhD degree in Population Health Sciences, Epidemiology or other clinical arena (e.g., nursing) and a minimum of two years related postdoctoral clinical research experience for Research Scientist - Clinical
  • PhD degree in economics, health economics, health management and/or policy, health services research or related fields for Research Scientist - Health Economist
  • PhD degree in medical physics, physics, engineering, or related fields with PhD training in MR research for Research Scientist - Magnetic Resonance
  • PhD degree in computer science, physics, engineering, applied mathematics, or related fields for Research Scientist - Imaging Processing
  • Evidence of research productivity and independence
  • 2 years of relevant experience postdoctoral research training and/or experience, including evidence of research productivity
  • Experience working with graduate students and/or medical students (excludes Magnetic Resonance and Image Processing)
  • Evidence of authorship and grant submissions
  • Research Scientist – Laboratory; experience with specialized techniques and procedures used in research specific department (excludes Magnetic Resonance and Image Processing)
  • Research Scientist – Clinical must have relevant clinical research experience and experience designing clinical research protocols

Responsibilities

  • Lead research aspects of the department as a team leader and co-investigator
  • Design, collaborate, plan, perform data analysis and prepare reports
  • Perform laboratory procedures and carry through an independent research program
  • Lead and support clinical research activities
  • Manage all aspects of the research laboratory, including staff selection and training, project assignment and scheduling, monitoring of project funds, coordination of data generation and analysis, and acquisition and use of equipment and facilities
  • Review current literature in relevant fields
  • Critically evaluate research data and prepare research results for publication in refereed journals and presentations at scientific meetings
  • Seek grant support for new and/or continuing research activities, including identification of funding sources, grant development and preparation, managing of awarded grants
  • Participate and/or lead routine departmental research meetings; serve on research committees as delegated
  • Provide research methodology training to research fellows, postdocs, residents, technicians, and students
  • Perform related departmental/divisional duties as assigned

  • Previous experience in Urology Research
