Requirements
- At least one year of writing and/or television experience
- Exceptional scriptwriting skills, news judgment, and grammar
- Flexibility to work overnight hours
- Thorough knowledge of current events, US politics, geopolitics, foreign policy, and history
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field is study preferred, or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
- Efficiently and accurately write and produce multiple compelling headlines at once
- Write scripts and banners
- Cut video and sound bites; produce graphics
- Consistently meet firm deadlines on multiple assignments
- Work with reporters on their hits while following guidance from the show’s senior producer
- Flag producers about updates on your assignments, including breaking news developments and new visual elements
- Collaborate with the show’s head writer, copy editor, and writing team
- Think outside the box to tell a story
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field is study preferred, or equivalent experience
