Requirements

  • Pursuing a four-year degree in Microbiology, Biology, Viticulture/Enology (preferred), Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Flexible with availability to support 24 hour production schedule
  • Willingness to work in production environment
  • Summer months can exceed 90 degrees
  • Production environment is loud and fast paced; company will provide required safety protective gear

Responsibilities

  • Collect samples of fermentations, prepare and perform analysis on Spectrophotometer to upload to Wine xray to provide color and phenolic data to winemakers
  • Collect data from winery press systems to generate white yield data
  • Under direction of winemaker, generate work requests for cellar to manage fermentations through the process
  • Work in Excel to update fermentation tracking sheets
  • Perform any bench scale additive trials on fermentations or wine lots as requested for taste evaluation
  • Participate in tasting fermentations
  • Help to manage yeast culture tanks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideally junior-level college student
  • Located close to Woodbridge facility; ability to be on site with flexible schedule
  • Self-starter; willingness to take initiative
  • Agile mindset; can reprioritize on a whim and doesn’t get thrown off by changing gears midstream
