Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience working in a water or wastewater treatment and/or distribution environment.
- A valid State of Maine motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Must possess a minimum of a Maine Class 1 Operator-in-Training Treatment and/or Class 1 Operator-in-Training Distribution Operator Licenses – and possess the ability to acquire Maine Class 2 Full Treatment and Class 2 Distribution Operator Licenses within 2 years.
- Working knowledge of the principles, procedures, methods, equipment, materials, and tools employed in the operation and maintenance of Wastewater Treatment and Collection Systems.
- Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in wastewater treatment work.
- Knowledge of computer applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Responsibilities
- Regularly participates in the daily operations and maintenance of the Water Treatment Systems as directed by the Project Manager.
- Participates in an on-call rotation on weekends, holidays and outside normal workday hours.
- Will be required to respond to emergencies or unpredicted situations.
