Requirements
- Education: High School Degree/GED
- Experience: Must be 21 years of age or older
- 1 or more years of supervisory experience
Responsibilities
- Identifies, investigates, and resolves issues ensuring deadlines are met
- Partners with customers, managers, utility, or other personnel to ensure customer satisfaction with ongoing communication, cooperative problem management, and regular feedback on goal achievement or obstacles experienced
- Works with Manager and other leaders to identify and address inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction
- Explain and demonstrate work tasks to new workers or assign training tasks to experienced workers
- Recommends or implements personnel actions, such as employee selection, evaluation, rewards, or disciplinary actions
- Recommend and implement measures to improve worker motivation, equipment performance, work methods, or customer services
- Requisitions needed personnel, supplies, equipment, parts, or repair services
- Drives vehicles or equipment to complete work assignments or to assist workers
- Interprets transportation regulations, safety regulations, or company policies and procedures for workers
- Prepares, compiles, and submits reports on work activities, operations, productivity, or work-related accidents
- Resolves worker problems or collaborate with employees to assist in problem resolution
- Performs or schedules repairs or preventive maintenance of vehicles and other equipment
- Assists workers in tasks, as needed, such as disconnecting and reconnection of consumer accounts, and water meter exchange and/or installations.
- Handle customer inquiries when applicable or refer customer complaints to the appropriate authorities
- May provide general information about the meter services to customers, when applicable
- Use telephones, tablets, and/or computers to communicate
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Associates Degree from accredited college or university
- 2 + years of proven supervisory/management experience.
- Additional experience in utility supervision or a related field
- Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as a team
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to manage a team
- Exceptional flexibility in daily routines and route scheduling
- Project management skills
- Proven understanding of industry standards
- Adequate time management skills to facilitate worker efficiencies
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable interacting management and customers
- Ability to interact with unhappy or negative customers in a professional manner
- Excellent attention to detail for problem solving and finding
- Ability to walk long distances and prepare for weather conditions, accordingly
