Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrology, or other related field
  • Master’s Degree in a related field, or economics/business, is a plus
  • Five (5) or more years of work experience in gas generation and/or water resources development, air quality permitting, data center delivery, land development, data center delivery, infrastructure permitting, renewable energy, real estate, planning, policy, and/or other related field
  • Experience prosecuting water supply, wastewater, gas generation, and air quality permits across multiple geographies
  • Deductive reasoning, fundamental quantitative, and strategic thinking skills are mandatory, as is a disciplined approach to identifying risks and opportunities for projects
  • Experience working with local, state, and federal AHJs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Independent and self-directed, but unafraid to ask questions where needed
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and execute in a timely and accurate manner

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and municipal environmental regulations for Intersect Power natural gas, water, and wastewater operated assets.
  • Prepare, submit, and coordinate discretionary permit applications for new facilities and play a key role in the compliance assurance for facilities covered under existing permits and environmental regulations.
  • Manage a network of external consultants in the scoping of utility support infrastructure including pipeline conveyance, water treatment and disposal, and other infrastructure as required in the preparation of diligence documents (including legal counsel for permit opinions and guidance) necessary for environmental permitting and financing processes.
  • Manage and keep up to date project permitting schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate with and solicit feedback from a network of geographically dispersed internal colleagues in the preparation of utility support infrastructure permit applications.
  • Attend site visits in the field related to site assessment, community engagement, agency review, and construction.
  • Maintain compliance calendars, prepare emission calculations, schedule emissions monitoring and testing, file necessary forms and reports, conduct facility audits, liaise with government officials during inspections, and assist in the preparation and implementation of corrective action plans, where necessary.
  • Advise management of pending changes in environmental regulations and their potential impact to operations.
  • Prepare and provide permit implementation documentation to regulatory agencies, and prosecute permit approvals in compliance with the law.
  • Develop internal presentation, communication, and approval materials for executive management and other internal stakeholders.
  • Provide project management support for environmental due diligence and infrastructure development pertaining to water, gas, and air quality.
