Requirements

  • Bachelor’s with 3+ years of applicable experience; Master’s with 1+ years of applicable experience; 4 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree
  • IAT Level II Certification (required)
  • TS/SCI Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
  • Proven experience in network administration, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network devices such as routers and switches
  • Expertise in managing and resolving network service requests and incidents
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience in conducting root cause analysis for network issues

Responsibilities

  • Perform switch and router installations and upgrades to maintain optimal network performance
  • Conduct network site surveys and assist with engineering design data calls
  • Perform system patching and IAVA patches for network routers and switches to maintain security and system integrity
  • Conduct IOS and software upgrades on network devices to ensure the latest technology is utilized
  • Conduct approved minor network changes such as VLAN, ACL, and port assignments to meet operational needs
  • Support new or enhanced network implementations, installations, and technical refresh projects within various locales
  • Troubleshoot network failures and accessibility issues to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Provide timely resolution for network outages, leveraging your creativity and ingenuity to develop solutions across the enterprise
  • Manage network service requests, categorizing and prioritizing requests based on type, location, and urgency
  • Use administrative access to network components for provisioning new switches, routers, VLANs, and cryptographic solutions
  • Research errors and incidents using administrative access, perform incident analysis, and resolve issues to prevent recurrence
  • Support the closure of network tickets, conducting root cause analysis and completing resolutions
  • Draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for network operations and changes
  • Contribute to the development of technical resolution reports for critical outages and ongoing service issues
  • Work with minimal supervision in remote locations, providing independent engineering and network problem-solving support
  • Utilize prior experience to identify innovative technical solutions to network challenges
  • Travel to other sites for network engineering activities, with up to 50% CONUS travel anticipated
  • May require physical handling and moving of network components of average weight and size

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
