Responsibilities

  • Support the Co-Chairpersons and Chief Business Officer in developing and updating the overall long-term strategy for the Motion Picture Group.
  • Work with Global Distribution, Marketing, and Content Sales to regularly monitor theatrical box office and home entertainment trends and market dynamics, and report and synthesize these to MPG leadership to inform ongoing slate decisions.
  • Provide operational guidance on strategic initiatives, research and analysis across production, marketing and distribution and any other film-related business issues.
  • Provide MPG support for corporate initiatives and strategies, in collaboration with Corporate Strategy, Content Strategy / Content Maximization, Finance, Corporate Business Development; provide input into any broader corporate strategy materials and presentations on behalf of MPG.
  • Be the lead for MPG on cross-divisional activities with Content Sales, Streaming / Max, Franchise Management, CP, related to Warner Bros MPG films and film IP (e.g., title economics, content maximization).
  • Manage the flow of projects from development to greenlight to release – understand and track the full lifecycle of each motion picture.
  • Initiate and coordinate the film greenlight process for individual titles, including (a) initiating materials collection from Creative / Production / BA; (b) reaching out to stakeholders to collect and analyze inputs; (c) preparing greenlight materials in partnership with Finance, and (d) advise MPG leadership on creative, financial, and strategic issues related to all films submitted for greenlight consideration.
  • Help manage overall film development and production budgets and pipelines (in partnership with Creative, Production, and Finance).
  • Manage and own the studio’s long-range plan, including regular buy-in from MPG leadership (i.e., the identification of greenlit and upcoming titles, their budgets, and box office and P&A forecasts, along with target release date over the next 3-5 years).
  • Support title release strategy biweekly meetings, including preparing materials, data, analysis, and financial models (in partnership with Finance, Distribution, Marketing) to facilitate strategy discussions, as well as post-mortems.
  • Prepare critical business reports and outputs including title post-mortems.
  • Support the CBO in managing and facilitating critical business mechanisms including: Pre-Greenlight meetings, Priority Projects meetings, Greenlight calendar and project tracking, Title Biweekly meetings, Film post-mortems, Monthly LRP meeting, IP and development tracking.
  • Lead special projects and growth initiatives in partnership with key stakeholders, including: social impact label, direct-to-streaming or accelerated theatrical slate plan, etc.
  • Support WBPG business development and growth efforts in coordination with BA, Business Development, and Finance, including acquisition and investment opportunities, co-financing arrangements, output deals, strategic partnerships, and new technologies and innovations.
  • Act as key MPG liaison for WBD Corporate Strategy or Corporate Development projects related to Film or Film IP.
