Requirements

  • Masters degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related
  • 15+ years engineering experience with progressively more responsibilities (ideally, you spent at least a few years as an IC in technically complex or demanding environment before you became a people manager)
  • You have built and led very high-performing engineering teams at an early-to-mid stage startup (ideally, you have managed teams of at least 50+ engineers)
  • You have strong technical mastery in software engineering but remain curious and committed to learning and improving your craft.
  • You have a strong sense of urgency to deliver results and inspire the team to achieve beyond what they think is possible.
  • You have a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead our entire engineering org (currently ~50 software engineers), directly supervising our engineering managers and tech/team leads. You will be responsible for ensuring high quality and high velocity execution from our engineering teams.
  • Continuously raise the bar on our talent density by hiring stellar engineers and investing in the development of our engineering talent. Provide continuous feedback to our managers and team leads, and develop and implement a consistent framework and process for evaluating performance across different teams in our engineering org.
  • Ensure that our engineering teams are setting ambitious goals, and that they never stop learning and growing under your leadership. Unblock and push our teams when necessary.
