Requirements

  • Minimum BS required, Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of industry experience required
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible engineering experience, with at least 5 years at the senior management level required.
  • Experience in the development of complex electronic and software systems required.
  • Experience with medical device development including regulatory requirements required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute technology-focused research and development strategies and plans
  • Drive the development of new products that enable execution of the global business strategy
  • Drive the development of software systems and tools that support world-class services delivery
  • Effectively support existing products and customer service activities
  • Lead, direct and organize activities of the R&D group including planning, staffing, budgeting, priority setting, resource allocation, project management, product design, documentation, design support and pre-production quality assurance.
  • Manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the clinical applications, patient needs, and prescriber requirements to drive the development of industry-leading technologies and products.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Product Management, Sales, Support Services, and Reimbursement to develop and implement new product portfolio and applied research / technology portfolio strategies and tactical plans, ensuring the process is focused on customer needs and time-to-market.
  • Serve as a key member of the management team that sets the company’s strategic direction.
  • Formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for the department.
  • Assure that department achieves objectives and project completion within budget and time frame.
  • Be a student of current clinical and industry trends, ensuring that the company maintains and expands its technology leadership position.
