Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or a related field required
- MBA or advanced scientific degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years of progressive clinical, market development, market access, or commercial leadership experience in biopharma, ideally in rare disease, anti-infectives, orthopedics, or hospital-administered therapeutics
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams in preparation for new therapy launches
- Strong strategic thinker with a bias for execution in complex, evolving environments
- Expertise in market access and reimbursement landscape in the U.S. (global experience a plus)
- Highly collaborative leadership style and proven ability to influence without authority
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Comfortable in a startup environment: adaptable, resourceful, and proactive
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the integrated field-facing clinical strategy across all stages of product development and commercialization preparation
- Partner with executive leadership on long-range planning, pipeline prioritization, and investment decision-making
- Build and manage the Clinical Field Specialist Team, ensuring alignment with strategic and clinical goals
- Define territory strategy, performance metrics, and team structure to support field execution
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development within the field organization
- Manages and leads the market access and reimbursement function, including strategic planning and team oversight
- Design and execute market access strategies that optimize pricing, reimbursement, and patient access
- Represent field clinical operations and market development in cross-functional development teams, executive meetings, and Board updates
- Engage with payers, PBMs, HTAs, and other stakeholders to understand and influence access pathways
- Own development of value propositions, health economic models, and data packages that support favorable coverage decisions
- In partnership with CROs and internal development teams, oversee field-facing clinical trial site operations
- Support product administration training, investigator engagement, and real-world readiness at clinical sites
- Cultivate early interest and advocacy from referring physicians, health systems, and KOLs
- Coordinate with pharmacies, principal investigators, and site research staff to ensure trial readiness and high-quality execution
- Oversees surgical coverage planning and coordinates backup support across clinical sites
- Captures and shares site-level feedback, operational requests, and key learnings
- Ensures data collection and antibiotic protocol adherence with support from the CRO, which monitors compliance and checks in with sites near study milestones
- Supports site engagement, referral networks, and regional education in collaboration with Medical Affairs
- Shape market educational strategies, including advisory boards and conference presence
- Guide the development of early promotional materials and scientific narratives in collaboration with Medical Affairs
