Requirements
- Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine
- Valid Arizona Veterinarian license upon hire
- Drug Enforcement Agency Certification is required
Responsibilities
- Examine impounded, in-house, and fostered shelter animals to perform diagnostics, create treatment plans, prescribe therapeutics, and determine appropriate disposition for incoming animals
- Execute spay/neuter surgeries, perform dental extractions, read and interpret radiograph studies, and perform non-witnessed, owner-requested euthanasia
- Evaluate animals for release from bite quarantine
- Monitor, dispense, and log controlled substances and maintain medical records
- Participate in biweekly onsite vaccination clinics
- Provide training to clinic, shelter, and field staff members
- Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external clients
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a veterinarian at a spay/neuter clinic or animal shelter
- Experience in shelter medicine
- Experience using Chameleon software
