Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, public health or hospital administration or closely related field
- Two years of professional level experience in a managerial or administrative capacity in a health or nursing care facility or over a program providing services for veterans or military personnel
- Certification as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator may be substituted for one year of required education
Responsibilities
- Directs the operation of a state veterans center in providing long term health care and quality medical services to eligible veterans
- Serves as the federal fiduciary for incompetent patients
- Plans and directs patient care programs, support services, volunteer programs, risk management activities, public and community relations effort and various training activities
- Coordinates program requirements and operations with other state and federal agencies
- Participates in meetings and planning sessions with local, state and federal agencies
- Reviews various inquiries, complaints, problems or other information concerning the operation of the center
