Vehicle Inspector

Strong diagnostic experience to inspect vehicles is required
High School Diploma or GED
Basic knowledge of automotive components and systems
Basic computer skills preferred
Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license
Must have a demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools
Ability to enter data on a hand held device
Ability to identify previous repair after appropriate training
Ability to identify basic mechanical issues (sludge, suspension damage, radiator damage)

Provide prompt and courteous service
Ensure that customers receive prompt, courteous and efficient service from all employees
Resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and advise the facility designated manager of all serious complaints or incidents
Maintain current information on manufacturer updates and changes concerning vehicles
Perform arbitration detail inspection and test drive of vehicles to assist in determining if damage or mechanical operating condition meets the program standards as defined by the account or contract
Submit completed arbitration inspection reports to the designated supervisor or manager by download from hand-held device or submission of written report
Monitor all shop area conditions, vehicles, property and equipment to ensure they are within corporate standards for cleanliness, proper maintenance and safety
Maintain good operating condition of all equipment
Make sure all shop conditions do not threaten employee or customer safety
Practice and promote teamwork at all times
