Requirements
- Associates degree in allied health, applied science or completion of certificate program is required.
- 2 years of vascular ultrasound/sonography experience is required.
- Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS) or a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and performs various sonography studies per protocol and as ordered per the provider.
- Processes studies to include preparation for interpretation by the physician and a preliminary test result.
- Provides patient care in accordance with the standards of care specific to age and the individuals’ needs.
- Coordinates departments QA initiatives.
- Is responsible for facilitating the national accreditation process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in science, allied health or related field is preferred.
- High school diploma/GED AND 5 years working as a sonographer may be considered in lieu of associates degree.
