Requirements
- Technical knowledge of the sport of gymnastics
- Ability to perform the basic maneuvers of the sport of gymnastics
- Ability to spot participants during gymnastics
- Good vision, balance, coordination, arm/hand/leg movements
- Ability to give good, clear verbal direction to groups of 10 or more
- Ability to motivate and work with children and adults of all abilities
- Ability to follow supervisor’s instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to deal effectively with emergency situations
- Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to be flexible in work schedule
- Current concussion training, or completion within 3 months of hire
Responsibilities
- Instruct youth in the fundamentals of gymnastics
- Teach proper techniques through controlled assistance
- Work closely with participants and parents
- Inventory and maintain all program equipment
- Assist in the development and enforcement of policies and procedures, emphasizing safety
- Distribute program material as directed
- Make decisions and enforce policies to ensure safety of staff and participants at all times
- Maintain cleanliness of gymnastics gym, including but not limited to vacuuming, wiping down mats, and wiping down equipment
- Attend scheduled staff meetings
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supervising preschool and elementary age children preferred
