Requirements
- Experience in deep tissue calcium imaging, optogenetics, and chemogenetics of neuronal populations
- Ability to utilize computational methods to analyze large data sets
- Strong communication skills
- Prior experience presenting scientific work
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong work ethic and initiative
Responsibilities
- Learn and perform imaging from head-fixed mice using both one and two-photon microscopy
- Use programming languages, such as MATLAB and Python, to design novel methods to analyze data
- Design and train mice to perform cognitive tasks
- Learn and perform cranial surgeries for optical imaging and manipulations of neurons
- Postmortem tissue collection and processing for various assays
Preferred Qualifications
- Calm demeanor for performing surgeries
- Ability to learn and use new processes, tools, and equipment
