Requirements
- A PhD in biostatistics or bioinformatics
- Some experience in R/Python package development
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on state-of-the-art spatial omics-based bioinformatics methods and related R/Python packages under the supervision of Dr. Souvik Seal
- Develop efficient and user-friendly R/Python packages, focusing on selected key methods from the research
- Collaborate with Dr. Seal and Dr. Brian Neelon on Bayesian spatial statistical models tailored for high-dimensional spatial omics datasets
- Work with basic scientists from MUSC’s Spatial Proteomics Core to apply and validate the developed methods on their datasets
- Contribute to manuscript writing based on the developed models and findings
Preferred Qualifications
- Moderate exposure to spatial omics datasets
