Requirements

  • A high school diploma and two years work experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
  • A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
  • Some positions require a valid driver’s license and good driving record; or correctable vision of 20/40 in both eyes, with or without conventional lenses, and physical qualifications in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Section 391.41; or AAVMA certification.
  • Some positions require eligibility for bonding.

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephones, greet visitors, take accurate messages and serve as a source of information for general infectious diseases, Ryan White patients, as well as a point of contact for the ID Bone & Joint clinic.
  • Perform general administrative duties as needed such as, copying, faxing, filing and sort/distribution of mail.
  • Provides support for other personnel in the Division, as necessary (due to absence) or when necessary as determined by the needs of the Division.
  • Coordinate patient care with other divisions within the medical center, interfacing with the Hospitalist (or other clinical staff/faculty) to ensure that follow-up appointments occur after patient discharge.
  • Obtain medical records from outside providers, hospital ERs and clinics on ID transplant patients as need for continuation of care.
  • Responsible for reviewing new internal referrals and appointment scheduling.
  • Must maintain physician/staff message queue and ensure that responses are timely, professional and accurate.
  • Perform daily administrative activities in support of the faculty members, to assist with the coordination of 19 faculty, 4 APPs, and 5 fellows.
  • Upload confidential patient files in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and ensures all data is updated and correct.
  • Serve as back up for maintaining the division academic calendar and faculty call schedules to include data entry into the Simon Web Communications System.
