Requirements

  • A high school diploma
  • three years professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending
  • A bachelor’s degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for two years of the required work experience
  • Computer literacy

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for securing quotes for equipment and supplies, preparing purchase requisitions and reimbursement documents for submission to MUSC and MUSCP procurement and accounts payable on behalf of the department, faculty, residents, staff, academic and research programs
  • Maintain recordkeeping for individual budget to actual reports for faculty, residents, education programs and some research funds
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of departmental expenses in OurDay by reviewing activity to ensure completion and evaluate for accuracy
  • Responsible for monthly billing, collections, and processing of payments in OurDay for Radiology
  • Responsible for the monthly processing of resident moonlighting one-time payments and completing quarterly billing to MUHA and MUSCP Corporate for cost reimbursement
  • Works with administrative team to complete on and off boarding for all faculty and staff
  • Provide support to accounting manager during annual tripartite departmental budget preparation and ensure adherence to departmental budget throughout the year
  • Perform annual inventory reporting under supervision of accounting manager
  • Perform special projects and/or additional assignments, as needed to keep the department running smoothly and makes recommendations to accounting manager for procedural improvements and assist with implementation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with bookkeeping a plus
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel
  • Experience with Workday a plus
  • Ability to work independently with little direction to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all records
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks while maintaining a strong attention to detail
