Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline.
- Experience with software design, programming, and analysis using MATLAB.
- Attention to detail, effective problem solving, sound engineering judgment, good communication skills, and the ability to use time effectively in order to meet deadlines.
- Dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, highly organized, capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks and managing time.
- Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision, and effectively communicate with all groups of clients.
- Able to work under pressure and accept supervision.
- Regular and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities
- Process and/or analyze acoustic data for developing, testing, and evaluating SONAR systems.
- Develop and implement research grade software and analysis tools in MATLAB and UNIX shell scripting. Software applications may include novel graphic visualizations, statistical analysis methods, or signal processing applications.
- Travel to remote locations to provide support for data collection and processing efforts at sites and at sea.
- Preparation and review of analysis presentations and technical reports, and presenting results at internal and external meetings.
- Support collaborative research efforts with other team members.
- Assist with data transfer processes and ensure compliance with security requirements.
- Other related functions as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline.
- Current or recent eligibility for access to classified information.
- Two years of experience with one or more of the following: analysis of acoustic data, signal processing or automation algorithms design, and/or estimating sonar system performance.
- One or more years of experience in designing, coding, and testing complex MATLAB software.
- Experience with remote field work either at sea or in geophysical applications.
- Experience summarizing analysis results in PowerPoint and presenting research results.
- Proven ability to work independently, formulate research questions, and take initiative.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0.
