Requirements
- Detailed knowledge of modern experimental physics techniques including troubleshooting analog electronics and noise analysis
- Familiarity with scientific programming for data analysis and hardware interfacing (specific language is not critical)
- Experience in scientific communication through technical presentations and journal publications
- Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, or Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on quantum devices or technologies
Responsibilities
- Operate a dilution refrigerator for the purpose of conducting low-noise, cryogenic experiments on microwave-controlled single spin qubit devices
- Develop the measurement techniques and quantum control methods required to operate Loss-DiVincenzo single spin qubits, including the generation of script level code to support experimental development and data analysis
- Analyze results, document and report findings in oral presentations, written reports, and publications
- Analyze measurement results through the application of relevant theory and modeling to define approaches for further device improvements in performance and/or yield
- Effectively collaborate with other members of the team to identify and implement improvements to experimental infrastructure, control hardware/software, and device designs
- Interface effectively with staff at academic partner institutions
