Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Six (6) + years’ of mechanical assembly or related mechanical experience
  • Management skills, ability to multi-task and handle high volume workloads
  • Ability to train team members and transfer knowledge
  • Correctly understands assembly / build requirements for aircraft configuration per customer request and ability to work effectively with supporting departments in order to meet build requirements
  • Use and interpret various forms of aircraft documentation in order to complete manufacturing tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Systems (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Eligible for employment in the US
  • <5% Domestic and International travel

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with FAA, company policy, OSHA, safety and environmental regulations
  • Build complex mechanical assemblies with or without written work instructions within established periods and processes with a high degree of accuracy and quality
  • Test and validate functionality of completed aircraft and aircraft assemblies
  • Raise any identified risk of not meeting a delivery date for an order of the assigned section supervisor following the defined communication process
  • Identify missing components that could prevent on time delivery and contribute to solutions
  • Supervise and mentor technicians in the performance of production and manufacturing
  • Demonstrate proficiency in an array of tasks required for aircraft production processes
  • Collaborate with engineering to create and implement new technologies
  • Contribute to the build of mechanical assemblies, mounting, harnessing and electrical interfaces for R&D (research and development)
  • Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures
  • Maintain production equipment and tools
  • Conduct experimental, environmental, operational, or stress tests on assemblies
  • Assist in packaging finished products and prepare them for shipment
  • Possibly provide assistance in the production of wiring assemblies, with guidance
  • Design and build simple structures. I.e. 80/20 frames and tooling fixtures
  • Build/modify and test electronic components including, but not limited to harnesses, thermocouples, and circuit boards
  • Operate complex test equipment I.E. Dynamometers and oscilloscopes
  • Perform forensic inspections of failed and damaged components
  • Provide troubleshooting support to end user
  • Contribute to technical and quality reports or other documentation. This includes but is not limited to work instructions and QA sign-off sheets, for use by engineering staff, management, or customers
  • Assist engineering in Scheduling and planning R&D efforts not to conflict with production

Preferred Qualifications

  • Applicable trade school
  • Experience in aviation, UAS or aircraft mechanical systems
  • A&P, ASE or other related mechanical qualification
  • Knowledge of engines, sensors, motors, springs, bearings, tolerance measuring equipment and software
  • Proficiency in Cost Point, Tip QA and Solid Works systems
