Requirements

  • Over 6 years of proven experience in spacecraft and lander configuration.
  • Expertise in managing configuration tools and workflows.
  • Proficient in iterative development methodologies and experience in agile environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of configuration tools such as Creo, Windchill, NX, etc.
  • Excellent GD&T skills with experience in large tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current green card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative configuration solutions to tackle technical challenges associated with lunar vehicles.
  • Lead or coordinate cross-functional trade studies to implement propellant transfer configurations across lunar programs.
  • Define, coordinate, and release engineering configuration artifacts, including interface control models and drawings.
  • Maintain and manage vehicle CAD and Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Proactively identify and resolve configuration-related issues across specific lunar vehicles.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders in the lunar permanence business as necessary.
  • Deliver technical work and leadership at the highest standard.
  • Work independently towards long-term objectives with minimal oversight, determining technical objectives to develop solutions.
  • Embody, promote, and mentor others in the Blue Origin leadership principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in vehicle configuration for past space missions/programs.
  • Experience in fluid and propulsion transfer is advantageous.
  • Skilled in creating novel configuration concepts while understanding subsystem constraints.
  • Experience in configuration analyses, mass properties development, and tracking.
  • Proficient in creating system-level interface control modules and vehicle-level engineering drawings.
  • Knowledgeable in EBOM development and management.
  • Familiar with engineering change management tools like Windchill.
  • Expertise in systems engineering, system architecting, and design for manufacturing.
