Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- Working knowledge of CAD (especially Micro-station, Geopak, Open Roads Designer, and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering
- 2+ years of related work experience
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate desired
Responsibilities
- Completes a variety of assignments such as plans, specifications, and estimates suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAD and other engineering software. Projects may include both State and local agency transportation assignments and National design-build projects.
- Prepares standard engineering computations, quantity takeoffs, specifications and other construction documents.
- Prepares text and exhibits for engineering and environmental reports for transportation projects.
- Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower level Engineers working on the same project.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Illinois transportation related projects is a plus but not required
