Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in nursing
  • Graduate from an approved school of nursing
  • Current Ohio License

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the entire transplant process from day of referral to time of transplant for potential heart and lung transplant candidates
  • Organize, collate and guide the medical/surgical data and pre-operative studies in collaboration with the transplant team
  • Serve as liaison for transplant team with pulmonologists, cardiologists, consulting services, dietetics, social services and insurance company representatives/case managers
  • Develop and conduct educational programs for patients and medical & nursing staff
  • Coordinate and submit statistics to national organizations and government agencies
  • Assist with development and implementation of new processes/procedures within the program
  • Participate in Patient Selection Committee and CTC staff meetings on a regular basis
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and acuity of the patients being served
  • Assess data reflective of the patient’s status and formulate an appropriate course of action in collaboration with transplant team

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN preferred
  • Prior transplant experience preferred
  • Current Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) certification preferred
  • Flexible, sensitive and adaptable to transplant activities
