Requirements
- B.S. degree in electrical engineering or a relevant field, or other relevant experience speaking to the competencies above.
- Experience in distributed timing control systems.
- Experience in the design and implementation of real-time complex instrumentation operating in the time domain.
- Experience in specifying and designing event drive and real-time instrumentation operating in the time domain, including electrical and optical transducer interfacing, noise suppression, and grounding and shielding techniques.
- Experience with various high speed test equipment including high bandwidth oscilloscopes (6-10 GHz), optical and time domain reflectometers.
- Experience with real-time pulse processing techniques including analog and digital recording techniques, diagnostic synchronization.
- Demonstrated testing skills, including analog and digital signals and the associated test hardware.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work cross functionally across a wide array of teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop designs for the large-scale integrated timing system and fiducial using custom or vendor provided instrumentation and control solutions.
- Prepare system design descriptions, and present designs to management.
- Develop user interface specifications and designs for both hardware and software.
- Perform installation and commissioning to bring designed systems into operation, including generation and execution of formal functional test procedures.
- Document all designs and maintain system configuration control.
- Participate in formal and informal design reviews.
- Maintain a close interface with the diagnostic and pulser engineering and science teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Google Workspace, which we use for communication and collaboration.
