Requirements

  • B.S. degree in electrical engineering or a relevant field, or other relevant experience speaking to the competencies above.
  • Experience in distributed timing control systems.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of real-time complex instrumentation operating in the time domain.
  • Experience in specifying and designing event drive and real-time instrumentation operating in the time domain, including electrical and optical transducer interfacing, noise suppression, and grounding and shielding techniques.
  • Experience with various high speed test equipment including high bandwidth oscilloscopes (6-10 GHz), optical and time domain reflectometers.
  • Experience with real-time pulse processing techniques including analog and digital recording techniques, diagnostic synchronization.
  • Demonstrated testing skills, including analog and digital signals and the associated test hardware.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross functionally across a wide array of teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop designs for the large-scale integrated timing system and fiducial using custom or vendor provided instrumentation and control solutions.
  • Prepare system design descriptions, and present designs to management.
  • Develop user interface specifications and designs for both hardware and software.
  • Perform installation and commissioning to bring designed systems into operation, including generation and execution of formal functional test procedures.
  • Document all designs and maintain system configuration control.
  • Participate in formal and informal design reviews.
  • Maintain a close interface with the diagnostic and pulser engineering and science teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Google Workspace, which we use for communication and collaboration.
