Requirements

  • Completion of the AN/TPY-2 Core Conduct course and on the job training OR have US Army THAAD experience OR successfully completed training via the Raytheon Skill Bridge Program.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued clearance is required on Day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • At least five years’ experience in the troubleshooting and operational checkout of TPY-2 systems.
  • B.S. in Engineering, Science or Mathematics, and/or equivalent field experience commensurate to experience described above.
  • Experience in the planning, production, and management of complex systems.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train and lead a team of 4 Field Engineers through day-to-day operations and THAAD maintenance.
  • In the event of Radar deployment, the THAAD Team Lead must be prepared to lead the THAAD CLS team through all stages of deployment and serve as an example of sound leadership and good decision making in a possible high stress-situation.
  • Coach, train, develop and mentor the skill set of the CLS THAAD Maintenance team.
  • Provide performance feedback of their assigned team, to include accountability of team and individual goals. To account for and provide management and the team with an assessment of key developmental needs.
  • Manage the PTO hours for the team.
  • Ensure Site Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are adhered to.
  • Attend and provide input to radar site related meetings and tag-ups.
  • Devise and implement and perform preventive maintenance program and keep performance and maintenance records on equipment.
  • Install, check out, operate, maintain, repair & modify the TPY-2 equipment.
  • Analyze equipment failures to determine cause and recommend corrective action.
  • Advise & assist in effecting design changes to improve equipment efficiency and/or reduce cost of operation.
  • Supervise system performance using maintenance of system diagnostics software.
  • Monitors diagnostics to evaluate the functionality of the radar and its components.
  • Conducts fault isolation and localization of radar malfunctions.
  • Restores system to mission capability by performing corrective action procedures.
  • Maintains accurate Activity Log Reports and Inspection Test Record (ITRs)
  • Reviews all radar operation and maintenance activities and provides recommendations to Raytheon Program Manager for improvements.
  • Operates and supervises the ALCS program to ensure all data is entered properly.
  • Performs independent assessments, audits, and special inspections of site activities associated with the radar system as directed by the Raytheon Program Manager.
  • Ensures the maintenance of system configuration management through proper entries in ALCS.
  • Monitors radar diagnostics for any radar system anomalies (e.g., Receiver/Exciter (REX), Beam Steering Generator (BSG) BSG, Antenna/Sub-Array/ TRIMMs)
