Requirements
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- A track record of success in distribution terminal management including key aspects of safety, environmental compliance, quality and employee engagement.
- A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity.
- High degree of knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and Hazmat regulations.
- Familiar with preventative maintenance programs.
- A track record in driving continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with office staff, drivers, customers, and AP leadership.
- A self-starter with proven leadership abilities to lead and influence direct reports as well as ability to lead by influence.
Responsibilities
- Manage environmental, health, and safety (EHS) plans for the site including the development of safety talk/safety meeting materials, monthly site inspections, coordination of Top 10 Customer Site improvement plans and daily walk around Good Catches.
- Manage and lead the distribution terminal team to ensure safety is paramount and reliable, on-time delivery of our products is achieved.
- Work with the Line Manager and AP Fleet Maintenance team to develop strategic plans for the LaPorte terminal distribution equipment and ensure capital investments and maintenance costs are well managed. Manage driver’s hours of service in accordance with company policies and Federal/State regulations.
- Collaborate on daily schedule details from AP Central Logistics to ensure continuous product supply by managing daily driver availability and coordination with maintenance staff to provide distribution equipment resources necessary.
- Manage third party contractor support, as needed, for the daily delivery schedule in times of major logistical challenges as directed by regional management (i.e., major plant outages, shutdowns, etc.).
- Daily review of location and driver work hours availability with Logistic planners to prevent driver fatigue.
- Daily oversight and analysis of previous days completed trips ensuring driver compliance with routing and customer supply levels meet demand requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial driving experience is preferred but not required.
