Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Human Resources, Public Administration or related field.
- One (1) year of experience in Education, Workforce Development, Social Services, or related field.
- Knowledge of employer needs, education and student needs, and high-quality work-based learning.
- Knowledge of state, regional, and local initiatives related to career pathways and related education and training programs.
- Ability to communicate and translate needs to various stakeholders.
- Skill and ability to effectively present information to diverse groups including all levels of staff, community organizations, employers, and educators.
- Ability to convene partners across industry and education sectors.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in both verbal and written communication.
Responsibilities
- Engage employers and foster relationships with the workforce programs at the college in key industry sectors.
- Participate and engage in statewide training and convenings.
- Perform outreach and gather information from educators and employers on existing work-based learning activities, including but not limited to internships, industry tours, externships, and apprenticeships.
- Field inquiries, assess goals, and make referrals to other partners within the local workforce ecosystem.
- Recruit applicants and interview prospective participants to assess and verify eligibility for program services.
- Work with the dual credit program, faculty, and high schools to develop and maintain pathways in workforce programs.
- Assist with onboarding of students into the college and workforce programs.
- Assist with troubleshooting challenges and connecting students with academic advising, program faculty/staff, and other appropriate college personnel.
- Assist with connecting students with college and community resources and wrap-around services.
- Provide resources/linkages and transitional support services to help place students into internships.
- Conduct monitoring of student’s program-related activities and resolves issues between program participants and employers to ensure successful program outcomes.
- Work with career services to assist graduates with job preparation and placement.
- Develops and maintains a database of educator and employer contact information.
- Prepares and submits reports as necessary to ensure program compliance and to meet federal and state requirements.
- Preforms other related duties as assigned.
- Works on assigned committees and panels as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Career Counseling, Employment Services, or Workforce Training Programs
- Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP)
- Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP)
- Project Management Professional (CMP)
