Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in RF engineering, telecommunications systems, or spectrum coordination.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years.)

Responsibilities

  • Processing and coordinating communication radio frequency assignments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and provide safe voice communication service channels between pilots and controllers.
  • Familiarity with frequency assignment principles, RF propagation, and interference mitigation.
  • Ability to support coordination of radio frequencies across diverse systems, including both voice and data communications.
  • Understanding of land mobile radio (LMR) systems, analog and digital radio networks, and narrowband operations.
  • Capable of reviewing and validating frequency assignment data and evaluating system compatibility.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical data and prepare documentation such as coordination summaries, engineering notes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Capable of identifying potential conflicts in frequency usage and proposing solutions based on engineering judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Skilled at working with internal stakeholders and external agencies to coordinate spectrum usage and resolve technical issues.
  • Comfortable participating in technical discussions and communicating findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient with common office software and able to learn specialized tools and databases used for frequency management and analysis.
  • Stay up to date with communication technologies, industry trends and standards, FCC regulations, and best practices related to RF interference and spectrum management.
  • Ensure adherence to national and international spectrum regulations, including coordinating with regulatory authorities.
