Requirements
- You obtained a college diploma in physic technology, electronics or equivalent
- You have between 0 to 5 years of experience and good knowledge of the following domains:
- Manipulation of optical components (semiconductor lasers, silicon chips, lenses, etc)
- Micro placement processes of components and wirebonding
- Optical alignment and fiber coupling to optical waveguides
- Manipulation, cleaning, splicing of optical fibers
- Opto-mechanical prototyping
- Basic mechanics and electronics
- Work in a dust-free and controlled environment
- You have excellent ability to solve technical and experimental problems
- You have a good sense of collaboration and a good team spirit
- You have a good mastery of French (both written and oral) and a knowledge of English
- Knowledge of the Office suite
- Have a spirit of initiative, innovation and be autonomous
- Be comfortable working in a research and development environment
- Be available occasionally to travel
Responsibilities
- Perform optical and electrical tests on different types of components
- Assemble opto-mechanical prototypes
- Develop, assemble and operate test stations
- Evaluate environmental performance (temperature, humidity and particle count)
- Compile and analyze assembly and test data
- Write test reports and suggest possible solutions based on the results obtained
- Collaborate to improve performance
- Interact with several members of the group (technical assistants, technicians, engineers, researchers, etc) for the development of prototypes and new products
- Research and purchase components and instruments from suppliers
- Manage the different implementation priorities while respecting the deadlines provided
- Update technical documentation
- Collaborate in the writing of inspection, test and assembly procedures
- Get involved in improving work methods and tools
- Contribute to the introduction of new products in production and the improvement of existing products
- Coordinate a group of technical assistants and guide them in prioritizing their daily tasks
- Supervise entry inspections on critical equipment
- Coordinate the various assembly and inspection requests from other groups
