Requirements

  • Completion of at least one year in a post-secondary Accounting or Finance degree program and still enrolled in the program.
  • Analytical skills to identify potential problems related to position responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with others to resolve issues as part of a team.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and computational skills using Microsoft Excel and similar tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and filing of corporate income tax indirect tax returns, and other tax information returns.
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly financial statement income tax provisions.
  • Perform and maintain an analysis of Canadian and US expenditures to determine the appropriate tax treatment.
  • Assist with data gathering, report generation, data formatting and data analysis for tax reporting, tax research, tax audits and related tax authority correspondence, etc. as required.
  • Documentation of the group’s procedures and controls, and assist with process improvements as required.
  • Develop relationships with and collaborate with other cross-functional teams such as Finance, Treasury, Business Development, Budget and Forecast, etc.
