Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent and at least eight years of relevant experience; six years of additional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to evaluate physical, electronic, and operational security measures to meet stringent SCIF requirements
  • Experience with client account management support (e.g., Windows Active Directory, GPO, Exchange server, DNS, application upgrades)
  • Expertise in logistics, configuration management, and ITEC account custodian with a strong understanding of DoD procurement process
  • Advanced knowledge in configuring and managing various hardware environments and platforms as well as ensuring the system security posture is maintained
  • Proven customer service, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize efficiency of IT systems
  • Develop architecture diagrams, network diagrams, rack elevation diagrams etc. and generate associated Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • High level of self-motivation, ability to define, manage, and prioritize tasks in an individual and/or team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a desire and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, taking the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • Active Top Secret is preferred with SCI eligibility is required to start
  • Possess a DoD 8140.03/8570.01 Information Assurance Technical II certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP)
  • Must be a US Citizen due to DoD contract

Responsibilities

  • Support, install and configure Government Furnished Equipment at CONUS and OCONUS sites; at least 25% travel required
  • Coordinate system and network deployments with sites’ security managers, users, and onsite personnel at military installations
  • Support common Operating Systems (e.g., Windows Server/Workstation, Linux) and address complex technical problems and provide innovative solutions
  • Assist with cybersecurity penetration testing, applying STIGs and patching systems; support ATO packages
  • Cross train into new technical disciplines as mission requirements dictate and mentor others who are doing the same where appropriate
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems across different disciplines (account management, operating systems, networks, cybersecurity)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing and defining system/network architecture for information technology environments
  • Ability to perform the duties of Alternate COMSEC Responsible Officer
  • Familiar with cybersecurity management leveraging eMASS or Xacta platforms
  • Strong understanding of NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and controls
  • Ability to assess and mitigate system threats/risks throughout the program lifecycle
  • Capable of interpreting and applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools e.g., ACAS, SIEM, HBSS/ESS
  • Understand and implement basic security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Windows Powershell, Puppet, or Ansible for troubleshooting and automation of routine tasks to increase efficiency.
