Requirements

  • HS Diploma and 10 years of general experience in network administration OR a bachelor’s degree (in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related discipline) and 5 – 8 years of experience
  • Active DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g. CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
  • Active clearance: TS/SCI with Poly
  • Extensive background in Linux tools, performance tuning, instrumentation
  • Extensive background in container architectures
  • Open-source software tools, software stacks, and standards
  • Ability to manage a team of system administrators across a wide range of platforms and requirements
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux, preferably with Linux (Rocky, RHEL, Ubuntu, etc.)
  • Windows and Linux patching
  • Virtualization working with VMware / OpenStack / OpenShift
  • Networking Switch- VLAN setup and VMware virtual NIC config for isolation
  • Active Directory configuration and support
  • Hardware and Operating System troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in network planning, engineering, and architecture.
  • Strong understanding of network management tools and techniques
  • STIG hardening recommendations
  • Understanding of project design within the scope of security (RMF) requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate cyber/IT related experience with attention to detail, customer service, oral and written communication, and problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional and connectivity testing to ensure continuing operability.
  • Interface with internal/external customers and vendors to determine system needs.
  • Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain baseline system security according to organizational policies.
  • Manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
  • Plan, execute, and verify data redundancy and system recovery procedures.
  • Install, update, and troubleshoot systems and servers.
  • Comply with organization systems administration standard operating procedures.
  • Implement and enforce local network usage policies and procedures.
  • Manage system and server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
  • Monitor and maintain system and server configurations.
  • Perform repairs on faulty system and server hardware.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
  • Identify open-source software tools and stacks for customer-specific and production platforms
  • Identify and evaluate new products; provide solutions for network problems.
  • Use network management tools to discover, map, and maintain the network.
  • Plan and incorporate how new network resources and applications will exist on the network.
  • Conduct research on new technologies and implementation strategies.
  • Configure and support Palo Alto and Cisco networking devices and services to support passive and active sensors.
  • Implement firewall routing rules and policies.
  • Assist in procurement of hardware to meet mission needs.
  • Enterprise network security management (firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDPs), log management/reporting solutions).
  • Reporting on different network architectures, network services, system types.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Linux RHEL 8 in-depth knowledge of security and operating overhead to streamline performance
  • Extensive virtualization management, architectural understanding and performance behaviors
  • Docker administration, installation, maintenance and tuning
  • Experience analyzing performance issues and implementing efficiency improvements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical team members, managers, and customers
  • AWS Cloud or Azure Cloud experience and cloud resource administration
  • Develop solutions to interconnect COTS/GOTS cybersecurity sensors and networking equipment to test, validate, and deploy improvements to the customer system(s)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) OR Palo Alto Networks (PAN-OS) experience is a plus
  • RHCSA/RHCSE
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.)
