Requirements
- Doctorate (Ph.D.) with a solid demonstration of practical skills, OR
- Master’s degree with 2 years of applicable work experience, OR
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of applicable work experience.
- Practical experience with X-ray generation and detection, electron optics, high vacuum, and high-voltage systems is highly desirable.
- Command of mechanical, electrical, electronics, physics, math, and computer skills (Windows OS, interfacing, networking, programming (python scripting preferred)).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and develop X-ray metrology systems and subsystems, ensuring alignment with performance, manufacturability, serviceability, and reliability goals.
- Perform system modeling and error budgeting to drive continuous performance improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine system requirements and specifications.
- Apply advanced engineering techniques to evaluate and optimize system performance.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system architecture diagrams, schematics, test plans, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and field service teams, including hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical experience with X-ray generation and detection, electron optics, high vacuum, and high-voltage systems is highly desirable.
- Programming (python scripting preferred).
