Requirements
- PhD (or Masters plus equivalent work experience) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with experience in robotics and control of mechatronic systems
- Exceptional background in the design of classical and modern servo control systems
- Possess exceptional C/C++ and MATLAB programming skills
- Knowledge of Python would be a plus
- Prior experience in computer vision algorithms would be a plus
- Hands-on experience (2+ years) in the design and implementation of real-time controllers for mechatronic systems would be a plus
- Be guided by exceptional engineering intuition for mechatronic systems and at the same time be detail oriented and able to develop and push a single solution to completion
- Excel in a high-energy team and demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Show passion for product quality and continuous improvements
- Have the ability to work unsupervised, and the determination to get through challenging problems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and test key product control and safety software algorithms
- Analyze complex medical electro-mechanical devices and servo control systems for safety and clinical risk, perform thorough failure mode analysis, and provide risk mitigation strategies
- Address issues at production and also in the field, perform analysis, evaluate risk, establish root causes, propose design improvements, and provide solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Python would be a plus
