Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of Program Management or related work experience.
Responsibilities
- Manages and takes responsibility for multiple complex programs/technology by applying up-to-date program management knowledge to meet deadlines.
- Ability to build strong technical and program understanding and develop key insights and influence.
- Drive and deliver overall program alignment and execution across multiple technologies.
- Understand requirements priority and drive scoping and planning including interdependencies, staffing constraints and schedule optimization across multiple tech teams.
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering, establish clear Plan Of Record commitment and enable prioritization.
- Establish rigorous execution discipline & communications process: risk management, mitigation, tracking, schedule trends vs baseline, recovery actions, executive reporting.
- Establishes key program metrics and manages team to take action outside their comfort zone to ensure program success when metrics deviate from Plan of Record.
- Develop and establish strong processes that streamline the development cycle and integrate multiple plans, dependencies and deliverables effectively.
- Manage customer and stakeholder expectations, effectively channel requirements to respective development teams and drive consensus on development schedule, plan, and processes.
- Use verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information to multiple audiences. Requires strong negotiation and alignment skills. Be articulate, effectively multi-task, stay on top of all aspects of program.
- Be able to work independently with little supervision.
- Awareness of business processes (e.g., program change management, communication) and ability to drive decisions necessary for on time delivery.
- Identifies and secures resources to ensure alignment of team with program/technology demand for multiple medium sized programs with moderate complexity.
- Drives teams to identify program issues/risks, and create a risk mitigation plan across programs. Maintains and updates the risk tracker.
- Promotes program vision and objectives within the team, ensures program objectives are met or exceeded, presents program vision to management, and gains buy-in from stakeholders.
- Promotes adoption of processes by applying best practices and identifying and executing process improvement initiatives across the Program Management team.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of professional experience in embedded, multimedia technical product management, technical program management or development.
- Experience in Graphics, Video and Display Technologies, including Kernel and User Space drivers.
- Prior domain knowledge and experience in software development or engineering management in embedded technologies, Multimedia Technologies (Camera, Imaging, Display, Video, Audio, Graphics) is highly desirable.
- Prior experience working with OEMs, ISV’s and SW or HW vendors/partners is highly desirable.
- Comfortable working with large, complex projects and deliverables.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong social team fit, self-motivated.
- Solid understanding of OEM requirements for mobile smartphone industry, embedded HW accelerated applications, PC/computer industry multimedia device drivers and frameworks.
- Broad familiarity with and in depth experience in one or more Multimedia APIs and Frameworks for Linux, Android and Windows OSes.
- Preferred MS, or PhD degree in an engineering or computer science related field.
- Strong technical understanding of OS and multimedia software technology and deliverables.
- Working knowledge of s/w development principles and mobile/embedded industry.
- Experience managing SW products through entire SW development life cycle, including risk management.
