Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory management and/or asset management
  • Analytical Skills: Analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimize operations. This includes understanding inventory levels, transportation routes, and potential bottlenecks.
  • Communication Skills: Effective coordination with internal teams, suppliers, and customers. This includes clear and concise communication of logistics plans, updates, and potential issues.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage tasks, track progress, and ensure deadlines are met. This involves planning, scheduling, and prioritizing tasks efficiently.
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of logistics software, inventory management and transportation tools. This can include using warehouse management systems (WMS) and understanding data analysis tools
  • Problem-Solving Skills: ability to quickly identify and solve problems. This includes anticipating potential issues and developing contingency plans
  • Basic Scripting: understand basic scripting to execute commands for possible device troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, processing, and managing inventory for all incoming AR P&D hardware, including prototypes and off-the-shelf hardware.
  • Distributing hardware to internal teams and external partners, including managing domestic and international shipments. This also involves device setup and preparation (e.g., charging, software installation, turning on the device and checking for defects, updating software). Team is responsible for monitoring shipping progress, working with central teams to complete necessary paperwork for international shipments and providing updates to recipients.
  • Handling hardware swaps, recalls, and secure disposal of confidential pre-production hardware and materials as well as a waste of production devices.
  • Overseeing AR P&D warehouse operations in Mountain View (MTV) and Waterloo (WAT), conducting inventory counts and optimizing the warehouse layout and storage capacity.
  • Providing minor on-site hardware support, such as tightening screws or applying protective taping.
  • Testing and validating new AR devices to ensure functionality and quality. *Note:* This is not QA. This is an ad-hoc one off request to enable the tech support team to come up to speed on how to use the hardware and how to support the end user.
  • Preparing and supporting devices for various AR programs, including user experience (UXR) research studies, external developers and product demonstrations.
  • Delivering frontline technical support and troubleshooting assistance to all users of AR prototype hardware and production devices (i.e. off the shelf AR/VR headsets and glasses).
  • Provide in-person hands on support to PMs, Executives and Engineers providing demos to internal and external customers.
  • Creating and maintaining user support documentation for all prototype devices.
  • Developing scripts for device setup, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
  • Triaging hardware bugs, conducting fault analysis, and managing the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) process in conjunction with the logistics team.
