Responsibilities
- Develop and implement competitive pricing strategies to maximize profitability and turnover, fitting these strategies into our ‘One Price’ philosophy.
- Continuously monitor market trends and data to adjust pricing for optimal performance.
- Use analytics and insights to establish market-relevant pricing structures for inventory.
- Strategically source and acquire used vehicle inventory to meet market demand.
- Foster relationships with wholesalers, auctions, and trade partners to secure desirable inventory.
- Regularly review and assess inventory condition, age, and performance metrics to maintain an optimal mix.
- Communicate with service and sales to appropriately manage SSLP inventory and turn.
- Collaborate with the reconditioning team to ensure vehicles meet Schomp Subaru’s quality standards.
- Monitor timelines and costs associated with reconditioning to optimize efficiency and profitability.
- Communicate clearly with the service and reconditioning departments to prioritize tasks and maintain workflow.
- Stay informed about local and national automotive market trends to anticipate customer preferences and shifts in demand.
- Use market intelligence to guide inventory acquisition, pricing, and promotional efforts.
- Lead, mentor, and directly oversee the used car team leads and their respective teams.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture focused on customer satisfaction and performance.
- Set clear performance goals and provide ongoing feedback and support to achieve departmental objectives.
- Drive penetration of finance and insurance (F&I) products in used vehicle sales.
- Develop strategies to increase profit per vehicle retailed (PVR) while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Hold accountable the Schomp processes for finance presentations, offerings and manager interactions, including ‘second swings’.
- Ensure a seamless and enjoyable customer experience throughout the used car buying process, fully executing our ‘One Price, One Person, One Hour’ promise.
- Handle escalated customer concerns with professionalism and a focus on resolution.
- Implement initiatives to enhance customer loyalty and retention within the used vehicle segment.
