Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree (minimum half of coursework toward degree satisfied) as a full-time student athlete at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with scheduled practice or in-season commitments during the time of the program.
- Must be available to work 20 hours per week during the timeframe of Monday – Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) – program work is self-paced and interns will work directly with their manager to create schedule
- Must be entering junior or senior year at the time of internship
- This internship program is designed to give student athletes internship experience working for The Home Depot, but does not guarantee a full-time offer
- Student athletes will work remotely from Chapel Hill, NC
Responsibilities
- Interns will be assigned to a functional team within Merchandising including buying, global sourcing, merchandise operations/execution, marketing, e-commerce, product development, and brand management to learn day-to-day operations, and merchandising skills.
- Interns will learn more about our retail business and our corporate offices while having the opportunity to work on a pre-assigned project that impacts the function they are supporting.
- Interns participate in networking and development activities that set them up for success as they build their careers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred majors: Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing or Fashion Merchandising
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Specifically Excel and PowerPoint
- 3.0 GPA or higher
