Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, with eligibility to obtain licensure in TX
  • 5+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on aviation or airport projects
  • Proficiency in structural analysis
  • Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, IBC) as they apply to aviation structures
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Project Management experience

Responsibilities

  • Designing and analyzing structural systems for airport terminals, hangars, control towers, runway structures, bridges, and other aviation-related facilities
  • Overseeing design consulting teams, developing project scopes, schedules, budgets
  • Conducting structural assessments, feasibility studies, and providing recommendations based on industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Periodic Reporting and project updates/findings and presentation to the senior staffs
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including architects, MEP engineers, and project managers to integrate structural designs into overall project plans
  • Managing design consultants to ensure quality and adherence to project timelines
  • Coordinating with stakeholders including airport authorities, architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Developing project specifications, drawings, and construction documents in accordance with applicable codes and standards
  • Performing structural calculations, simulations, and analyses using software tools and manual methods as required
  • Participating in meetings with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to discuss project requirements, progress, and approvals
  • Providing technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and conducting site inspections to ensure structural integrity and compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with airport safety and security standards, FAA grants, and related regulatory requirements
