Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in a strategic HRBP or Director-level role.
  • Experience supporting hourly, frontline, or distributed operations workforces in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or e-commerce sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage performance cycles, org design, compensation planning, and employee relations at scale.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to build trust and influence across all levels of leadership.
  • Scalable systems-thinker with a data-driven approach to solving complex people challenges.
  • Strong understanding of HR disciplines including org design, talent management, compensation, performance, and ER.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the Senior Executive of Last Mile, Chief People Officer and functional leaders to translate business objectives into human capital strategies that accelerate growth and impact.
  • Design and implement org structures that support agility, scalability, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Use data and people analytics to drive informed decisions on workforce planning, retention, and capability building.
  • Guide and coach leaders to effectively manage and develop their teams, with a strong focus on performance management, accountability, and engagement.
  • Enable managers to lead through ambiguity and complexity — supporting them with tools, training, and frameworks to manage change, motivate frontline teams, and drive clarity on roles and responsibilities.
  • Support leaders in setting and communicating clear goals, delivering feedback, and executing performance improvement plans when necessary.
  • Drive strategic workforce and talent plans in alignment with the priorities set by business leaders, with clear, actionable steps that optimize the organization’s talent, structure, process and culture.
  • Provide executive, senior, and front-line leadership coaching.
  • Partner with L&D and Uber Freight’s centralized HR functions to develop and scale programs around leadership development, skills training, and career development.
  • Champion a culture of continuous feedback and growth, with robust frameworks for coaching, career conversations, and succession planning.
  • Drive employee engagement strategies across a distributed and diverse workforce, including field, warehouse, and corporate teams.
  • Build and reinforce a strong, mission-aligned culture through proactive communications, values-driven initiatives, and change management.
  • Conduct organizational effectiveness assessments and design workforce models that build organizational capability, recognizing industry trends applying solutions that propel the business.
  • Ensure adherence to employment law, health and safety regulations, and internal policies across multiple states and jurisdictions.
  • Serve as a thought partner to Legal, Compliance, and other risk stakeholders as needed and partner with them to manage sensitive employee relations issues, investigations, and risk mitigation.
  • Manage complex employee relations issues with empathy, consistency, and a bias for impact.
  • Drive compliance with labor laws, workplace safety, and regulatory requirements across multiple geographies.
  • Build and scale core HR programs including onboarding, performance management, succession planning, DEI, and retention initiatives.
  • Translate business needs into HR solutions using data-driven insights and agile thinking.
  • Partner with centralized HR COEs (Compensation, Talent Acquisition, L&D) to ensure cohesive and tailored support for the Last Mile business unit.
  • Drive HR integration strategies with M&A team and ensure seamless integration of any acquired company’s workforce.
  • Lead implementation and localization of HR programs in collaboration with centralized COEs including compensation, talent acquisition, L&D/training, people operations & systems, and culture & inclusion.
  • Act as the connective tissue between the Last Mile business unit and corporate HR, ensuring business-specific needs are met within the enterprise framework.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or HR certifications (SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Experience in both startup and mature company environments preferred.
  • Experience supporting a field-based or frontline operations workforce.
  • Experience working in logistics, transportation or e-ecommerce.
  • Experience integrated acquisitions and their workforce.
  • Excellent consulting and coaching skills.
  • Strong Project/Program Management.
