Requirements
- Must attain Central Processing Certification from HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) within one year of hire date for Tech I
- Current CP Certification from HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) for Tech II and Tech III
- One year of work experience in Central Processing for Tech II and Tech III
- Proficient in two or more specialties for Tech II
- Proficient and subject matter expert in all specialties for Tech III
- Able to train in all specialties for Tech III
Responsibilities
- Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, and disinfect surgical instruments
- Assemble, protect, wrap, contain, peel pack and label surgical instruments
- Sterilize instruments and equipment
- Pull case carts
- Clean, troubleshoot and correctly use CP equipment
- Perform and record all biological and chemical sterilization tests
- Issue and receive durable, moveable clinical equipment
- Issue sterile supplies to using areas
- Perform inventory duties as required
- Verify that all sterilization processes have been completed and met parameters before making equipment available for use
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in two or more specialties for Tech II
- Proficient and subject matter expert in all specialties for Tech III
- Able to train in all specialties for Tech III
