Requirements
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician – The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc
- High School Diploma or GED
- Relevant Work Experience
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area while handling various types of equipment, instruments, and supplies used during surgical procedures.
- Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes instrumentation, equipment and supplies for the OR and other areas as needed.
- Keeps accurate quality control records regarding Bowie-Dick Tests, Biologics and individual load records.
- Ensures adequate inventory of necessary supplies for Sterile Processing department and orders as needed.
- Transports sterile supplies and equipment to other areas of the hospital.
- Maintains and cares for equipment and supplies. Documents maintenance and repairs.
- Maintains department records, reports and files as required.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs.
- Consistently provides accurate and complete hand-off communication to any healthcare provider according to hospital policy.
- Attends 80% of all department meetings and required to review and initial all department minutes missed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
