Requirements
- Strong database platform knowledge including OLAP (Redshift/Databricks/Snowflake), OLTP (Postgres/Oracle/SQL Server/Sybase) and NoSQL (DynamoDB/MongoDB) data platforms.
- Proficient in Data Design and Modelling for OLTP and OLAP applications for optimal performance, minimal redundancy and data integrity.
- Development: Python and shell scripting, database development and optimization techniques including indexing, partitioning, materialization, as well as OLAP techniques such as star models, data distribution, sorting, vacuum, materialization, dynamic tables.
- Aware of column store, compression methods.
- Adhere to coding standards, write CRUD SQL, Bulk Approach for OLAP, MicroBatch workloads, able to understand modern ingestion processes, hot/cold approaches.
- Ability to code stored procedures, UDFs multi language and ability to use dynamic and/or structured/semi-structured data types (e.g., XML/JSON). Understand triggers and insight into complex features such as change-data-capture, streaming.
- Guide Application teams in writing of database code, validation rules, data quality.
- Experience with backup and recovery, managing large data sets, and ongoing maintenance of changes (version control), archival and purging strategies. Technical documentation, creating SOPs and migration plans.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting critical processes in Production and knowledge of modern observability techniques such as Open Search, Grafana, Splunk. Ability to understand Disk I/O. CPU, Memory, and other internal resource utilization.
- Familiarity with one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their database services.
- Architecting and deploying GoldenGate replication on cloud platforms, optimizing performance and scalability for large data volumes.
- Building robust data pipelines using GoldenGate to replicate data between different cloud databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) across multiple regions.
- Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks within GoldenGate replication, including tuning network settings and database configurations.
Responsibilities
- Contribute as a seasoned member of a dynamic team to architect, design, develop and implement enterprise solutions for data, cloud, storage, access provisioning, replication and analytics while ensuring the guard rails for security, stability, and scalability are upheld.
- Responsible for enterprise level development, testing, and maintenance of various implementations within the architecture team supporting 100+ applications within the IT department servicing front, middle and back office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Data modernization techniques: Externalization, follow Medallion Architecture of raw/curated/gold (aka silver/bronze/gold), Lake strategy and usage, Serverless, and Producer-consumer conceptualization.
- Ability to understand end to end data pipelines, use of tools such as Airflow, CICD process and use of Git.
- Security Management knowledge including understanding of role-based access, groups and grouping privileges, use of external systems for vaults. Ability to define standards and access controls, user management and various access methods.
- Implement security measures to ensure best practices are followed and protect sensitive data during data pipeline/replication process and access control mechanisms such as Data Encryption, auditing, and logging.
- Experience in Enterprise level Data Virtualization/Fabric.
