Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain weekly staff schedules for nurses, CNAs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Address any staffing shortages or absences by coordinating last-minute coverage, using a combination of internal staff, agency staff, or other resources.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clinical staff, department heads, and HR to ensure staffing needs are met and shifts are filled promptly.
  • Work closely with the HR department to ensure that staff hours are accurately recorded and reported for payroll purposes.
  • Ensure staffing meets state and federal regulatory requirements, including maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios.
  • Generate and review staffing reports to identify trends, potential gaps, and any compliance issues.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts or issues that arise due to staff absences, tardiness, or other staffing-related concerns.
  • Collaborate with HR and department managers to identify opportunities to optimize staff schedules and improve efficiency.
  • Be available for on-call support during off-hours or weekends to handle urgent staffing needs or emergencies.
