Requirements
- MS or PhD in Physics, Optical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
- 8+ years of experience in project management and designing complex systems
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments, sites, and time zones
- Capability to communicate and negotiate with multiple teams of varying technical background
- A hands-on mentality to own challenges and develop solutions independently
Responsibilities
- Own the translation of conceptual system architectures into manufacturable system designs and the decomposition into modular sets of subsystems
- Optimize systems designs with respect functionality, timing, and complexity
- Break down functional system goals into subsystem and component requirement and negotiate those with the respective stakeholders in the relevant teams
- Together with validation teams, provision for the necessary data acquisition subsystems and document test goals and test strategies
- Critically review design choices with the needs of all stakeholders considered and implement adjustments
- Create and maintain documentation (drawings, schematics, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of principles of quantum computing preferred
