Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management experience; insurance experience a plus.
  • Experience in B2B2C product development; independent agent experience a plus.
  • Experience with scaling product for rapid growth
  • Excellent test and learn practices that drive measurable results for the business.
  • Product domain expertise spanning the customer discovery, planning, and product development process; deep understanding of customer-centric product practices.
  • Highly analytical; excel at leveraging customer research and analytics to drive product decisions; hands on experience using SQL and python recommended.
  • Superior problem-solving skills with ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Detail-oriented; ability to multitask and prioritize projects while ensuring organizational alignment.
  • Roll-up-the sleeves work ethic and “do-what-it-takes” attitude to efficiently execute and drive for results in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Exceptional leadership skills; naturally collaborative, excelling at influencing without direct authority.

Responsibilities

  • Scale our new Independent Agent Platform by creating software that allows for rapid expansion while delivering delightful agent experiences.
  • Partner with research and design to better understand customer needs for your strategic product area.
  • Advocate for solving our customer needs throughout the product development process.
  • Work across product, operations, user experience design, analytics, and core engineering teams to identify the highest-leverage customer and business problems in and around your specific product area.
  • Create, manage, and adapt the operating plan and product roadmap.
  • Work with business development, sales, and incentive teams to craft products that will achieve product-market fit and motivate agent partners to sell Root products.
  • Lead a team of engineers to drive the full product lifecycle, spanning ideation, design, implementation, testing, and iteration.
  • Maintain continuous discovery and evaluation of new ideas, insights, and feature candidates.
  • Write product requirement documentation (PRDs) that drive alignment between the business strategy and the engineering plans.
  • Cultivate a product area backlog with ruthless prioritization using product frameworks.
  • Manage dependencies between product areas and find creative ways to bring products to market.
  • Facilitate team delivery events using agile delivery practices.
  • Understand the health of your product area with data and customer feedback.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Insurance experience a plus.
