Requirements
- Demonstrates working knowledge of patient care techniques, medications, treatments and general health care procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Ability to provide basic patient care to a diverse patient population
- Ability to read/interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Ability to write legibly and effectively present ideas, document activities
- Demonstrate leadership abilities
- Deal with problems involving several variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Minimum six (6) months or less of clinical acute care experience Required
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Required
- Current California RN license Required
- Current (BCLS) Basic Life Support Certification Required
- Current (ACLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support Required
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the assessment, coordination delivery and evaluation of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care
- Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in assigned area
- Develops, implements, manages/coordinates an optimal interdisciplinary plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors
- Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications
- Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations and codes to promote a quality, highly reliable patient experience
- Engages in continuous growth and development in professional nursing practice
